English Language Challenges

For me learning English has always been an important aspect of academic formation, since it opens a door to the world. It has never been difficult for me to learn English because when I was little I watched many Disney Channel series where they taught you English through the songs that the characters sang. Little by little I became more interested in the language and as the years passed I just listened to music in English, then I started watching videos in English on YouTube and I realized that I understood almost everything they said, there were only some words I did not understand and I looked for them right at the time. The hard part came when I tried to start writing in English, at that moment I realized that I had learned everything by listening but I had never seen it. So writing the English words is hard for me. Changes to My Study Programme

I think that there are many things to change in our study programme, and the main reason is that the journalism is in constant development, and the fast that the technology changes makes as adapt the way that we present our work constantly.   In our university, Universidad de Chile, the focus of the formation is written journalism, but the truth is that the journals are dying. People has stop reading, the new language of the information is the image. so we need to learn tools that help as to transport the information that we write in a video or an infographic. We don't have much subjects that give as the technic tools and abilities to produce that kind of content, the subject of photography, for example is something really important this days, but the way we learned is so basic that we just know how to take a picture. An artist you love

I'm a fanatic of music, since i was a kid I considered music as a way really important of expression, the fact that through sounds we can express emotions and make others feel them, is something that is one of a kind. Because of that, is that I admire Alex Anwandter, his music mix two aspects of expression in music.   At one side Alex make really rhythmic songs, so you can feel every beat in your body, the strong of the instruments intensify that feeling even more, so it's nearly impossible to stay sit when you feel that sound live. On the other side, even when Anwandter make pop music his lyrics are full of social issues. this is one of the most knowledge characteristics of his music and the reason why is so popular in the media.      His lyrics tackles themes that affects to the minorities, as discrimination, but also take topics that are universal as love. These days we had seen the worst part of the chilean state, we had seen right through their eyes to the beast we believe killed by the return of democracy.  It seems that we´ve been sleep and we could´t see the horror that the Mapuche people had been living since the came of the spaniards. In the last days the murder of Camilo Catrillanca has put over the table the violence that is been happening in the Araucania. Since that tragic day many people has come out to the streets to demand the removal of the “Comando Jungla” of the conflict zone. It's important that we realize the way is acting the government, this is not a coincidence, this is part of the plan of the government of Sebastián Piñera. As journalist we have the responsibility of show to the people what is happening and also criticize the press coverage that is been biased. Post Graduated Studies

I always wanted to study something related to arts, but in the moment I enter to university I was scared of choose a career that wasn´t what my family expected for me. So now that know the academic world and I'm more secure of myself I'm sure I want to study a second career but this time something that is really what I love. This time I will study something that somehow is related to journalism so I think I wasn't so wrong. I want to study photography in Spain, I don't have fully develop the idea because was something that came like a month ago. I went to a conference of Daniel Ochoa de Olza, he is a photographer that works for one of the most important agencies of photojournalism AP Agency. My Future Job

I really try not to think much about the future, because I´ am in the last years of my career so I want to focus in make a good practice and a good thesis and of course enjoy my last time as a student. But as the time flies, the last years I´ve been thinking about the job I would like to have in the future. For me is simple because I knew before I enter to university, I want to work as a photojournalist.   When I enter to study Journalism, that is the mayor that I am studying, I enter because was the career that mixed the arts, as literature or photography and the hard subjects, as politics or economy. So allows me to invest my time in both areas.  But now a days, and after I take the courses of photography and audiovisual language I know that I want to work in photojournalism. My Pet

In my house there are many people as animals, yes! each one of us have their own pet so in my house there are five people, so we have three dogs and recently a little hamster. My mom is the only one who doesn't have a pet because she is scared of all animals. My beautiful pet, that I absolutely love, is my dog named Auka. He is two years old and is the cuddliest dog I have ever known, and I have had like 10 dogs in my life. I got him from a friend, she lived in Rancagua and her dog had puppies, but her family couldn't stay with all of them. In that time I did´t have a dog because, mine  had died the year before so I asked my mom If I could have a puppy and she told me if I got all my subjects at university with a good mark I could bring a puppy to the house. Everything aligned so one day I came, after school,  with this little puppy of one month old. The first days I had to sleep with him because he was so little that he started to cried if he stayed alone in...
